I am looking for the family of Robert Wright who used to live at 37 High Street, Lingdale in the 1960’s. and would like to make contact with them.
Robert lived with his parents and his brother Thomas at the above address and worked in Canada in the late 50's early 60's.
His father was somehow related to the surrounding farmers for Robert mentioned a year beginning of the 1960s that there was so much exceptional heavy rain in the harvesting season that the farmers could not harvest grains, potatoes nor cut the meadows. It was a huge loss of income for many farmers and many had to give up the farming after this event. Also his father could not collect the debts from the farmers due to the financial situation of the farmers. At the other opportunity Robert mentioned he helped his father for his accounting, so his father might have been indeed selfemployed.
His mother opened a hairdressers-shop in the early 1960s, but this business failed soon.
Any information would be very welcome and appreciated.
